Services and Fees
Dental treatment should be accessible to everyone. At Contemporary Smiles, we want to help you get the dental care that’s right for you, but we understand that the cost can be a big factor, especially if you are considering larger expenses like dental implants, teeth on 4 or services that is not or partially covered by your private health insurance for example cosmetic dentistry. Depending on your treatment needs and circumstances, Contemporary Smiles can refer you to a third-party to help you manage the out-of-pocket costs of dental work.
Interest Free Payment Plan:
Contemporary Smiles works with Denticare who offers interest-free payment plans for dental treatment between $2000 and $9000. An upfront deposit of 20% is required. Denticare offers you flexibility in payment dates, amounts and a one-year term.
Contemporary Smiles has teamed up with Smile Right, an online platform who specialise in dental loans. They offer a deposit-free loan against a low variable interest rate for treatment from $2001 to $50,000 and terms between one to five years.
Accessing your Super:
Under certain circumstances you can access your Superannuation to finance your dental treatment. Contemporary Smiles works with SuperCare. SuperCare has access to a team of specialists that can help make this process smooth and quick.

Payment Terms and Conditions
All payments for service fees or products must be paid in full by cleared funds on the day of service and/or purchase.
Payments may be made by debit card, credit card, cheque or cash. We also except payments by direct debit arrangement with your financial institution.
In the case of credit card payments, you must provide Contemporary Smiles details of your current and valid credit card as required by Contemporary Smiles, but including:
- credit card type;
- card number;
- name on credit card;
- expiry date; and
- verification code.
For payment made by direct debit, you must follow the information provided, including by accepting any additional terms and conditions or service agreements that may be applicable.
All fees and prices are states in Australian Dollars (AUD), and payments accepted in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Please note that finance arrangements must be in place prior to your treatment.
We accept all major Health Funds. All health insurance policies are different and coverage for dental services can vary. Your out-of-pocket costs will depend on your level of cover and yearly limits. It’s always best to contact your health fund directly to confirm the details of your cover. We can provide you with an item code which your health fund will need to inform you of your benefits.
We offer on the spot claiming (HICAPS) on the day of your treatment. Please remember to bring your health fund card to do this. If you do not have your health fund card with you on the day, you will be required to pay the full amount of your invoiced treatment. We will provide you with an itemised receipt which you can use to claim your benefits with your health fund.
Contemporary Smiles provides check-up and cleans for kids at no out-of-pocket costs. Please note that other dental treatment such as fillings may incur an out-of-pocket cost.
Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)
Contemporary Smiles offers treatment under the CDBS for eligible families. We can check your eligibility with your child’s Medicare number.
Under the CDBS, Contemporary Smiles offers a check-up and clean at no out-of-pocket costs to you. Please note that other dental treatment such as fillings may incur a gap. We will provide you with a clear treatment cost estimate and information what benefits you can expect from the CDBS prior to treatment so your out-of-pocket costs are always transparent.
If your family is not eligible for the CDBS or in a Health Fund, please talk to our reception staff to find out more information about our fees.
At Contemporary Smiles we strive to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
A scheduled appointment means that time is reserved only for you. If patients cancel their appointment at short notice or miss their appointment, this means, we have no time to fill their appointment slots and this results in wasted time. Like yours, our time is valuable. Missing appointments or cancelling at short notice also deprives other patients of the opportunity for much-needed treatment. Please consider this when making your appointments and allow time for unexpected problems.
We have adopted the industry-wide policy where if an appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice you will be billed $60 per half hour. Your health fund or insurer will not cover payment for missed appointments so you would be responsible for full payment of this amount.
To reschedule and confirm your next appointment, you may be requested to pre-pay a deposit of 50% of the estimated costs of your scheduled treatment.

Please note that failure to confirm your appointment may lead to cancellation of your appointment.

This policy does not protect you when you send content, questions or ideas to Contemporary Smiles Dental via email. If you want to keep them private or proprietary, do not send them in an email. We try to answer every email within 48 business hours, but are not always able to do so.
